The Last Circuit

A narrative heavy post apocalyptic visual novel on robots.

What's the game about?

The Last Circuit is a sci-fi themed interactive visual novel where the player plays as Echo, a robot trying to survive the Post Apocalyptic Earth with his best friend, Pip. However, it is a cruel and harsh world, and Pip is quickly put in grave danger. Despite being all alone, does Echo have what it takes to save Pip, and himself? Or will he succumb to the madness of the world?

For this project, I was part of a team of 9, in charge of character art. As a team we brainstormed the flow of the story, with branching dialogues, and put it all into a chart for better visualisation with legends. Each member then wrote a section of the story based off what they were assigned and then everything was collated together.

Based off the narrative, the world is in a post-apocalyptic setting and all remaining life are now robots. The visual language of the game leans heavily into stylized industrial sci-fi with a touch of personality and whimsy. The chosen direction emphasizes readable silhouettes, modular construction, and distinct character archetypes, allowing each robot to feel functional, grounded in purpose, and yet rich with individual personality.
